Giveaway: Happy Valentine's Day!!

Happy Valentine’s Day, lovely readers!

I hope you all have a beautiful day today, whether you’re sharing it with a significant other, family, or friends, or just spending the time to yourself.

For the past few years on Valentine’s Day, I’ve enjoyed that time with my family and friends. Making sure I texted or called them and let them know I was thinking of them. This year, though, I get to spend Valentine’s Day with my bf.

Our plans? Honestly, I have no clue, lol. I do know that we’ll be watching a movie, Beautiful Creatures. We’re both big movie fans and love to go to the movie theatre quite frequently. Besides a movie, I have no idea what we’re doing… and frankly? I don’t care. All I want to do today is what I enjoy doing most days, spending time with my love.

I remember years past when I would be the one to plan and make reservations for Valentine’s Day with my now ex-boyfriend. Not much fun. And, something I told myself I didn’t want to do anymore. So, this year, I’m glad that I haven’t had to do any of that :).

Over the past eight months, I’ve been on cloud nine falling in love with Nick. Without getting too mushy, I will say that he just makes me so happy and loves me even with all my faults and quirks... which there are definitely plenty of… quirks, not faults, hehe.

Last night, he surprised me with a bouquet of roses (my favorites). Not only that, he even bought the Brat a rose and a box of candy… I was almost tempted to keep it for myself, lol. In return, I gave him some goodies that Eli (@i_am_eli) and I had baked up that same night. There were cookies, brownies, and marshmallow filled cupcakes.

I’m looking forward to tonight, even if it be just the movies. As long as I get to watch with my love ;)

Before then, though, I’ll be texting friends and family, wishing them a Happy Valentine’s Day and wishing you all here one as well!

Ooh, and I have a giveaway for one lucky winner!! *yay* I’ll be giving away a $20 gc to Amazon and a dvd copy of Love Actually. Nick and I love that movie and I try to watch it once a year during the holidays.

Enter to win using the Rafflecopter below. Contest Open Internationally until Saturday @ Midnight. Winner will be revealed on Sunday Feb. 17th so be sure to come back to see if you won.

Happy Valentine's Day. Really the traditions hubby and I do is.. He will ask (instead of assume) on what I want. So he'll tell me to order it and he'd do the same.

This way he doesn't get something that offends me or upsets me. I get what I want and he gets what he wants.

And since we have three boys and he usually works nights, it's hard to go out to dinner. So we save that for next month which is our anniversary.

No traditions-- I'm single, so I spent the day working on my dissertation, going to lab to set up tomorrow's experiments, and kicking ass in Krav Maga class. And getting stuck on my bicycle in the crazy traffic resulting from people going out and the massive snowstorm we had over the weekend!

I have not seen Love Actually. It sounds cute though so I will have to check it out. I hope you and Nick enjoy the movies. Unfortunately my boyfriend isn't romantic at all and is so darn cheap. I got the dollar store bag of Hershey Kisses and a fifty cent card this year. I am trying not to do cartwheels from excitement. LOL

Happy Valentine's Day,

We rarely go out on Valentines Day because it is just too crazy; the restaurants are crowded, the wait is long, the service is mediocre, I always feel rushed, and the prices can be inflated. It's just not worth it. ..... So we went out on Monday and had a very nice romantic dinner at one of my favorite restaurants. My hubby gave me a Chocolate Rose and I gave him his favorite candy (Snickers Minis) in a heart shaped box.
