What are you most looking forward to going into the Olde City, New Blood Conference?

I am looking forward to spending some time with a fabulous group of readers and authors and also getting to spend some time in the lovely St. Augustine, Florida. It’s been years since I’ve been there, but it such a beautiful place and I’m looking forward to seeing it again, especially with such marvelous company.

If you had a choice, what type of paranormal creature would you be and why?

That’s a tough choice, but I think I’d have to go with a were-cat of some kind. Maybe a sleek black jaguar. They seem so nimble and strong and have you ever watched a cat stretch? So jealous of all that flexibility.

What was your absolute favorite Halloween Costume as a child or adult?

My favorite was dressing up as Agent Scully from the X-Files. I even made an “Alien baby” using a candle of a green alien stuffed into a big plastic jug filled with orange Jello. The only problem was that it weighed a ton.

This is a Halloween Bash…so what is your greatest fear?

Believe it or not, I’m afraid of the dark so I am not a fan of places where there is little light and even fewer people.

The world has ended and you’re a lucky survivor! What book do you claim from your bookshelf that you’d rather not live without?

OMG, that’s like asking which child I’d want to survive. Do I have to pick just one? Really? I’d have to say THE WOLF AND THE DOVE by Kathleen Woodiwiss. It’s one keeper I’ve read over and over and over again.

In your opinion what book besides your own MUST be made into a movie?

LOL! NAKED IN DEATH by JD Robb.

What are the best and worst things about writing paranormal/urban fantasy?

The best thing is the flexibility of creating new worlds. The worst thing: Creating new worlds without bogging down the pacing and confusing the readers (or myself!).

If your friends were asked to describe you in one word what would it be?

I hope it would be “Giving.”

Please tell us about your latest or upcoming releases :)

My latest release was on October 16th and it was KISSED BY A VAMPIRE, another book in THE CALLING/REBORN vampire novel series.

In November I have a romantic suspense,
THE PRINCE’S GAMBLE from Entangled Publishing.

In February 2013, THE CALLING is REBORN with Entangled starting with BORN TO SERVE which gives readers more in the FBI Agent Diana Reyes and Southern vampire Ryder Latimer story.

Are there any other conferences besides OCNB where your readers may find you?

I’ll be at Liberty States Fiction Writers in March. They have a fabulous readers’ track. Also look for me in Kansas City for the RT Book Reviews Convention.

About the Author

Caridad Piñeiro® is a multi-published and award-winning author whose love of the written word developed when her fifth grade teacher assigned a project – to write a book that would be placed in a class lending library. She has been hooked on writing ever since.

From the start, Caridad’s novels have received acclaim and have helped redefine the landscape of modern romance novels.
