Hi readers!! I felt it only fitting to give our girl Ali the Authors After Dark celebrity treatment on the final day of her Birthday Bash! :)
But first Ali has a few things she would like to say to everyone...
Now for the post where I try not to get too gushy and emotional…
I want to thank everyone for helping me celebrate my birthday with a Bang! this year :). I’ve had so much fun this month, getting to spotlight awesome authors and having so many great readers visit and interact. All this has made me even more eager to get to Authors After Dark this year, and I’m so happy that I get to help one lucky winner attend with a registration.
Thank you to the authors who gave their time and allowed me to host them here on Simply Ali as a Spotlight Author. Your generosity of time and the giveaways you offered have been much appreciated. To those who stopped by and took the time to answer comments by other readers, you are awesome, thank you!
Thank you to the readers for stopping by and commenting! You helped make this month an absolute blast! I hope this month you got to know some new to you authors and maybe even add a new title or two to your tbr pile.
I started this blog a few years ago to share my love of books, especially romance novels, and this month I definitely did just that! I want to continue with this momentum and plan to have additional events, author tours, reviews, and more, and I hope you’ll come back to visit.
I also have two people I need to give HUGE THANKS to…
Joy of Joyfully Reviewed is just full of awesomeness… without her, I may have gone crazy a while ago… although, she does have her own way of driving me crazy, lol. She’s been a lot of help and was there when I needed her. If you have yet to meet her and will be at AAD, just look for the bunny ears ;)
And now… a round of applause for Miranda! Without Miranda, there may not have been a Birthday Bash. She was essential in helping me organize everything and is absolutely brilliant! The posts all look as great as they do all thanks to her:). I am so lucky to have her help and it’s with her continued help that I hope to grow Simply Ali. She is simply fantabulous!
Again, thanks to the spotlight authors (in order of appearance):
Joey W. Hill Jessica Jarman Cynthia Eden Cat Johnson Melissa Schroeder Jess Haines Kris Cook Diana Castilleja S. A. Price Sophie Oak Carolyn Crane T. J. Michaels P. J. Schnyder Eliza Gayle Jaye Wells Leanna Renee Hieber Jade Lee Tilly Greene Samantha Kane Rosalie Lario Beth Williamson Stacey Kennedy Jessa Slade Mia Watts Kris Norris Sasha White Bronwyn Green Mari Freeman Erin Kellison Damon Suede
Check out Ali's Interview answers :)
Randa: Is there an author that makes you go all “fangirl?”
Ali: There are a few, but I've had the pleasure of meeting two :) Melissa Schroeder and Maya Banks. I love, love, love their books and they're both amazing and kind in person. One author I'd love to meet is Diana Palmer... because I think I can honestly say she was my first auto-buy author, and when I first started reading romance novels I just devoured her books, lol. I think I'd be really nervous if I ever met her in person... who am I kidding, I get nervous meeting anyone, LOL
Randa: Who are you most looking forward to meeting at AAD NOLA, the author to make you most likely go fangirl there?
Ali: T.J. Michaels! I've enjoyed her work since Carinian's Seeker and am looking forward to her Seals of Destiny series. Plus, how could I not love an author who's doing a Zombie Apocalypse countdown?! mwahahaha Make sure to join her Zombie Apocalypse Response Team (ZART)!
Randa: If you could co-write with another author who would it be and why?
Ali: I think it would be Melissa Schroeder. She just amazes me writing in so many different genres and with so many titles out, she's still able to keep things fresh and exciting... forget about co-writing, I think I'd be happy just sitting in a corner and watching her work her magic, lol. Don't let her know that, she probably wouldn't let me near her again, lol.
Randa: What are you looking forward to most about AADNola?
Ali: OMG, everything! I love getting a chance to meet new authors and readers and seeing those I haven't seen since the last convention. I'm also looking forward to just being in NOLA, again, and sightseeing a bit. I'd mention the bunny, but I get to see her so many times this year, lol
Randa: The world is under attack and you are forced to run for your life. You only have room for one book in your survival kit, what book do you take?
Ali: Well, I had to think about this for a moment... I'd love to take one of my favorite romance novels, but I'd probably take a survival book. Then maybe I can survive long enough to find some other interesting reads, lol
Randa: If you friends were asked to describe you in one word what would it be?
Ali: Goofy. To this day, I'd like to believe they mean that in a good way, lol Randa: I would say beautiful soul! I know that's two words...shhh! :)
*Favorite color: Black... unless we're talking about crayons, red-orange
*Favorite food: Buffet? I love food and it's so hard to pick just one.
*Boots or heels: Heels
*eReader or Print: eReader
*Beer, Liquor or Wine: Wine
*Favorite place to get it on besides the bedroom: ha, lol... I turned red reading this one, lol... sofa
*Favorite TV Show: So many, but right now Touch is a new favorite
*Favorite Book series (besides your own): The Harmless series by Melissa Schroeder... as many times as I've mentioned her you'd think I was a stalker, lol
*Pj’s or Lingerie: Pj's
*Vampires vs. Shifters: Shifters... specifically, werewolves who have mates
When you're a child who's reading a book, and all you wonder about is whether two characters will become a couple, you realize as you get older that the romance section is where you should be.
I've enjoyed reading since I was a child, and after I discovered romance novels, there was no ending for my hunger of books. Next to reading a good romance, I love sharing my love of romance novels.
When I'm not reading, you'll find me watching too much tv (Current favorites are Touch, Doctor Who, and Grimm), goofing off with the Brat (my 10yo sis), or discussing either the Zombie Apocalypse or when computers rule the world with my friend, lol

Sigh...I'm sad this is almost over, but have to give props once again to Miranda and Ali! This has been such a fun month. I think the best parts have been reading the great interviews to see things you have in common with some great authors, and to learn about new authors to read. I know that when I need a new book to read, I will stop back by these April entries here at SimplyAli and choose from some great books/authors.
So, thanks again for a super fun month, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ALI!!
Oops and I forgot my email...
I re-tweeted for the extra entries as well. (@antinmitchfield)

Happy birthday Ali
*raising coffee* And yet another happy b-day (or happy b-month  ) and a thank you for the party!
Thanks for the opportunity to learn about 'new to me' authors to add to my reading pile. When I first starting reading, not only was Diana Palmer a go to author but so was Iris Johansen. LOVED their stuff and still have 'keepers' on my shelf today.
Keep celebrating and enjoy yourself at AAD!

My favorite part was getting introduced to so many fabulous new authors!
I too am a huge Melissa Shroeder fan. She is on my must read list and as well as a few others that you had visit this month. But I have no doubt that many others will soon join that list!
Thanks to everyone who took time out and participated this month it was loads of fun!
Has to be the many different authors - some I have heard of, read, and some I have never heard of before now.
To see the diversity in the answers to the questions, to see favorite colors, and such.
Ali's always been such a sweetheart!!! Even though I jokingly told her I'd raid my friend's Sailor Moon collection for her. LOLOL
Awesome too that she shares the birthday month with my middle son and baby brother.
