When the love of Mike’s life breaks up with him abruptly, he doesn’t know where to turn. Mary is an emotional mess who reacts without thinking, and immediately regrets her decision. Making things right with Mike isn’t easy. It requires privacy to rebuild their love and share their lust. Neither expects their getaway to become a major news story.
The tattooed, retired surfer and daytime TV star are opposites, yet perfect for each other. But paradise isn’t easy on them. Their bond will need to stand up to the strain of a public relations nightmare if they have any hope of making it work.
Ali: Is there an author that makes you go all “fangirl?”
Tilly: Oh yes, absolutely but not in the genre you’d think. I have gone, and surely will again, all fangirl on Robert Sabuda! He’s a paper engineer who creates pop-up books that make me swoon. Yes, I am a proud member of the Movable Book Society and have a wonderful collection of pop-up books that I constantly leaf through and seek new ones to add. I finally took the big step and the heroine from my next book, “Come Back”, is a paper engineer. My love for those books had to come out in my writing at some point and that time has arrived.
Ali: If you could co-write with another author who would it be and why?
Tilly: Actually I’ve never thought about writing with another author. I know the pros and cons from authors who do double team thing, and it would not work with the way I live. No, I’ll leave that particular type of writing to those who can do it sans stress.
Ali: What are you looking forward to most about AADNola?
Tilly: Seeing people I haven’t seen since Philadelphia and meeting new ones who enjoy reading as much as I do. There are always great panels that I take part in and attend, and learn something new every time. Even though I’m not someone who dons a costume, I envy those who do and enjoy attending the parties to see their creations come alive.
Ali: The world is under attack and you are forced to run for your life. You only have room for one book in your survival kit, what book do you take?
Tilly: HA, didn’t have to think too hard on that one. “A Rose in Winter” by Kathleen E. Woodiwiss. The book is a meaty historical with an adorable hero who always keeps me guessing and a heroine that defines strong while going through crap. This is the one author who I have all her books in hardcover, paperback and ebook. It was a sad day when the romance community lost Kathleen E. Woodiwiss.
Ali: Who are your favorite literary characters? (Yours or someone else’s)
Tilly: I’m going for someone else’s character and it would have to be Stella and Audra Price’s sexy djinn, Nicodemus Marsh, from their Duvall Inc series. The genie is imperfectly hot and handles his tough as nails lover just the way she wants, with and sometimes without kid gloves. Basically, I love a hero who makes mistakes and must find a way back to their happy place.
Ali: Are there any of your secondary characters you would like to give more life to?
Tilly: I’m currently working on the two that are calling the loudest for attention and that would Ted and Matt Wilson. These brothers made an appearance in “Ride ‘em”, and it’s long past time they get they found the woman perfect for them. The other one that is being a little more patient is Hermes. He startled Anissa in “Double Punch”, but he hasn’t been seen since.
Ali: If your friends were asked to describe you in one word what would it be?
Tilly: Actually I didn’t have a clue so asked a couple and they said: quirky and caring, I kid you not those were the two and yeah, they both fit.
*Favorite color: today is blue, yesterday it was purple and over the weekend it was green.
*Favorite food: as in pseudo-nourishment would be a grilled cheese and if I’m feeling wicked, then it’s a grilled cheese with bacon, otherwise it’s chocolate - all sorts of glorious chocolate.
*Boots or heels: well that’s easy, I wish it was heels, but it’s boots, especially if they have sassy heels!
*eReader or Print: that is a hard one, but lately I guess I’m more e than p, although my current read is paper.
*Beer, Liquor or Wine: are all lovely, although if offered, I prefer a nice cocktail.
*Favorite place to get it on besides the bedroom: is the chaise lounge part of the couch.
*Favorite TV Show: of late is Big Bang Theory - bazinga!
*Favorite Book series (besides your own): that I laugh through is the Stephanie Plum books.
*Pj’s or Lingerie: is a lesson I learned early on that what you sleep in should be what you’re willing to be seen wearing in public, so that would be pj’s for me.
*Vampires vs. Shifters: would make an interesting match-up, that said, I’m a shifter supporter to the end.
