Simply Ali Spotlights Melissa Schroeder!!

Today Simply Ali welcomes the sensational
Melissa Schroeder!

Melissa has a smokin' hot series called Harmless and today she is sharing her next Harmless title with us!

A Little Harmless Fascination

Harmless, Book 7

Melissa Schroeder Publishing

Suspense, Erotic, Romance

Wanting her isn't smart, seducing her is inevitable, but falling in love with her could be downright deadly for both of them.

Security expert Conner Dillon isn’t a man who often takes a vacation. So when he's ordered to take a month off, and his sister insists on a trip to Hawaii, he isn’t very happy. After seeing his landlady Jillian Sawyer, he might just find something—or someone—to occupy his time.

For years, Jillian has always had a crush on Conner. Now an erotic romance author with a thing for Doms, she finds herself beyond intrigued by the man. He is good to the core, but there is something else darker in him that calls to her.

After one night in bed, they both find themselves addicted. In Jillian, Conner has found the perfect sub…and in him she finds someone she can trust. Falling in love isn’t what they expected, but walking away is impossible—especially when they realize someone wants Jillian dead.

WARNING this book contains the following: An uptight security expert who prefers schedules, a romance writer who does not, tattoos, a trip to the Aloha Swap Meet, two hunky neighbors who irritate our hero, Hawaiian scenes, whipped cream, and of course this would not be a Harmless book without a trip to Rough 'n Ready. Ice is recommended as any Harmless Addict will tell you, but the author takes no responsibility if a reader should become overheated. Read at your own risk.

Ali: Is there an author that makes you go all “fangirl?”

Melissa: There are a few. Joey Hill is one, so that will be interesting at AAD. I have never met her in person. And, then, Nora Roberts. She is one of the first authors who inspired me to write.

Ali: If you could co-write with another author who would it be and why?

Melissa: Oh, this is a hard question. I think I would have to go with Joey Hill. She knows so much about BDSM and is IMHO, the queen of it. I think I could learn so much working with her.

Ali: What are you looking forward to most about AADNola?

Melissa: I have never been to New Orleans, so I am super excited about that. And, I can't wait to have my parties, but I can't wait to see everyone again. I made some great friends last year, and got to spend time with people I have known for so long. I only have time for one con a year so it is the one time I get to see so many friends and share in our mutual love of reading romance.

Ali: The world is under attack and you are forced to run for your life. You only have room for one book in your survival kit, what book do you take?

Melissa: First of all, I will point out that with an ereader, I can take as many books as I want, lol. But, one book, I think probably Carnal Innocence by Nora.

Ali: Who are your favorite literary characters? (Yours or someone else’s)

Adam Black from Moning's The Immortal Highlander
Tucker Longstreet from Carnal Innocence
Jane Higgenbothem from Dodd's That Scandalous Evening
Enid MacLean from Dodd's Lost in Your Arms
Mistress Marguerite from Hill's Ice Queen

Ali: Are there any of your secondary characters you would like to give more life to?

Melissa: I rarely let a secondary character I like go without some kind of book, lol. But, I have two friends who will make their first appearance in Possession, Fiona and Zoe will end up with their own books at some point.

Ali: If you friends were asked to describe you in one word what would it be?

Melissa: This is hard. I would probably say it would either be blunt or sarcastic.

*Favorite color: Red

*Favorite food : Pasta

*Boots or heels: Boots

*eReader or Print: ereader

*Beer, Liquor or Wine: Wine

*Favorite place to get it on besides the bedroom: Tub or shower

*Favorite TV Show: The Closer

*Favorite Book series (besides your own): Chesapeake Bay by Nora Roberts is still my fave

*Pj’s or Lingerie: PJs

*Vampires vs. Shifters: Oh, this is a hard one because I write both, but I have to say shifters win out.

Melissa Schroeder has been kind enough to offer a Print copy of Callum as the daily prize!

Will desire be the answer or the ruin of an entire clan?

The Cursed Clan, Book 1

As Laird, Callum Lennon feels he has always failed to protect his cousins. Callum’s impulsiveness caused the death of his father and the experience has scarred not only his body, but his soul. From that point on, he made sure to always go with the more logical choice in every matter. When his younger cousin Angus finds clues that might help break the curse, Callum begrudgingly hires Phoebe Chilton to investigate. Callum doesn’t like bringing outsiders into their family affairs. Their life would become fodder for the tabloids if anyone were to find out about the curse. It doesn’t help that the instant he meets Dr. Chilton he’s attracted. But, he doesn’t really have a choice because she might be their last hope.

An expert in archeology, Phoebe has always been dwarfed by her parents’ shadow. Their high standards had her in college by thirteen and earning a second PhD by twenty-two. But her career and her broken marriage have left her needing something more than just diplomas and degrees. She wants to prove that her interest in legends, especially Celtic legends, is as important as her parents’ work. When the Lennon family contacts her, she sees the opportunity to win a massive research grant. With a long-time rival breathing down her back, she jumps at the Lennons’ offer her, hoping it will ensure her the grant. But uncovering the Lennon family secrets, and her attraction to Callum, could prove more than she can handle.

Forces outside the family are determined to ensure that they fail. When an old enemy threatens both the well being of the clan and the fragile new love, Callum will have to choose between believing his mind or his heart.

This is a fun interview - and a great drawing! I had been considering attending AAD - I would so love to go! I've visited NOLA once, and have been wanting to go back--there is so much great history to see there. I also love Nora Roberts, I think my favorite is still Public Secrets - an oldie but a goodie.

Melissa - I love your harmless book series. I don't remember the first book of yours I read but I think I've read all of them you have out so far.

It is so nice to find someone else that loves the Chesapeake Bay series by Nora Roberts also. Something about those men just draws you in.

Have you read the first book in the Boone Inn trilogy yet? If not, pick it up. I really loved it also.

Love the interview and LOVE the answer to "if you could only take one book with you" makes that age old question almost obsolete (sp?).

Can you believe I somehow have not read Carnal Innocence by Nora Roberts yet? *gasp* I know, I'm shocked as well! *off to quickly add it to my TBR list. (but I alread have the movie when I get round to it).

And I agree Nora's Cheasepeake series was such a moving series, I loved it! It made my heart ache, made me angry and happy, such an emotionally charged series.

Thank you! :-)

I love the Harmless series and follow "Harmless" on Facebook. I just wish that one of the big conventions would come down to Miami. We have the beaches, the sun, the studs on South Beach, Calle Ocho for a little latin flavor. Short drive to the Keys and some great independent booksellers here. AND I'd finally be able to attend a convention. :)
