Simply Ali Spotlights Kris Cook!!

Today Simply Ali welcomes Kris Cook to the Authors After Dark Birthday Bash!!

Take a look at Kris Cook's sexy new paranormal release from Siren Publishing!

Primal Desire

Texas Wolf Pack, Book 2

Siren Publishing

Paranormal, Erotic

March 26, 2012

Megan learns that she and her entire family are witches, living side by side with a pack of wolf shifters. Hoping to clear her head, she rides her horse through unfamiliar land and is thrown into the arms of a dangerous and sexy wolf shifter.

Driven by ancient guilt, Luke lives isolated on his land, apart from his tribe. When the gorgeous witch rides onto his property, her sweet scent awakens primal instincts deep inside him. After taking Megan to his cabin to heal from her injury, Luke’s need to wholly possess Megan overwhelms him.

As their passions burn hotter, old wounds are exposed. Will this lone wolf open his heart to the one woman who can save him?

Ali: Is there an author that makes you go all “fangirl?”

Kris: Don't you mean "fanboy", Ali? LOL! JR Ward would definitely be one. Though not officially, I could easily join the ranks of the Cellies. There are many more authors that would turn me into a gooey mess if they walked up to me.

Ali: If you could co-write with another author who would it be and why?

Kris: I've actually done that under another pen name. It takes a lot of trust to co-write with another author. Unlike an anthology where two authors write their own story with a similar setting, theme, supporting characters, co-writing is sharing a story. There are three authors that are dear friends that I trust that much: Melissa Schroeder, Sophie Oak, and Shayla Black.

Ali: What are you looking forward to most about AADNola?

Kris: Meeting readers. Before I ever wrote my first story, I was a reader. Still am, though I don't get as much time to read as I'd like. Last year in AADPhilly, I met some amazing readers and bloggers. Sure, I loved meeting other writers, but the highlight for me was the readers. I'm sure it will be the same this year.

Ali: The world is under attack and you are forced to run for your life. You only have room for one book in your survival kit, what book do you take?

Kris: Lover Awakened, JR Ward. Zsadist's story stole my heart. To see his ancient pain soften and melt away in the arms of Bella moved me.

Ali: Who are your favorite literary characters? (Yours or someone else’s)

Kris: I mentioned Zsadist above. Also, Shayla Black's Jack Cole; Sherrilyn Kenyon's Acheron; Charlaine Harris's vampire Eric, and so many more. Of my own? Mmm... I would have to say Jared in my novel Perfection. He's an ancient jinn carrying heavy guilt that has kept him from really living. After encountering a human woman, Micki, Jared finds love can conquer all and heal old wounds.

Ali: Are there any of your secondary characters you would like to give more life to?

Kris: Too many. LOL. It often feels to me like I'm sitting in a room alone as each of the secondary characters file in and tell their story in the hopes they will get the spotlight turned on them next time. Let me name a few. Mavin in my Eternally Three series has such an interesting story to tell. It hasn't made it to the page, but it is there. Stone, an angel who is also in the Eternally Three series, has suffered much. Hawk, in Primal Desire - the second book in my Texas Wolf Pack novella series, is screaming for his own book. There's so many more. I told my partner the other day that I must live to be one hundred twenty just to get the stories out that are swirling in my head. Wish me luck.

Ali: If you friends were asked to describe you in one word what would it be?

Kris: Sweet, kind, generous, and scattered. Of course, not necessarily in that order. :)

*Favorite color: I love all color, though sometimes I gravitate to blue more and other times red. Additionally, black is also something I can lose myself to.

*Favorite food: Chinese, hands down. Wait...I mean Mexican. No. Definitely, Cajun. Mmm... Depends on the wine list at the restaurant.

*Boots or heels: Sneakers or loafers on me. Heels or boots can be very sexy on a woman, in my opinion. I actually went shopping with Lexi Blake and Liz Berry at Northpark Mall in Dallas for several hours as they shopped for shoes. It was a blast. But please, no Uggs.

*eReader or Print eReader

*Beer, Liquor or Wine: Wine. No, liquor. Wait...a beer is great in the summer. Do I have to choose, Ali?

*Favorite place to get it on besides the bedroom: Elevator

*Favorite TV Show: Right now, Vampire Diaries. Later, will be True Blood. Do you see a theme?

*Favorite Book series (besides your own): JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood

*Pj’s or Lingerie: Birthday Suit

*Vampires vs. Shifters: I love them both. I write shifters (though have a vampire series in mind) and I always read vampires.

Thanks, Ali for having me as your guest. Can't wait to see you and your readers at AADNOLA.
Dream Big!

Thank you for the fun interview Ali and Kris! It was interesting getting to know a male romance author a bit better ;-)

I also prefer shifter, somehow I find their stories more passionate.

Thank you for the giveaway and happy Easter!
