The world is growing dark with it as mysteries from antiquity and legend creep into our time, bringing a new world of danger, beauty and...

Dr. Cam Kalamos has dedicated his life to studying its strange properties, but nothing is more intriguing than a woman whose soul is split in half, one part under her control, one part bent on...

How can he resist the lure of a lover with no inhibitions and an insatiable desire to possess him? Both Ellie and her shadow want Cam, but there is an innocent child to be rescued from the forest and the strange fae creatures of...

Love, loyalty, betrayal - which will rule? As Ellie sends her other self into the darkness, there is only one certainty: Trusting in shadows is a dangerous game.

You can read and Excerpt HERE

Ali: Is there an author that makes you go all "fangirl?"

Erin: Karen Marie Moning would be awesome. My fangirl would be total shyness. My eyes would be big, unblinking. Huge grin. I might come off a little psycho, but I am harmless. I promise.

Ali: If you could co-write with another author who would it be and why?

Erin: Angie Fox for her very excellent humor. Her monster MASH series can’t come soon enough!

Ali: What are you looking forward to most about AADNola?

Erin: Hanging out with people who love what I love. It’s such a laid back, easy atmosphere. And AAD NOLA has so many fun things to do. I can go have a fantastic time and then write it off on my taxes. Win-win, baby. I’m already planning on going next year.

Ali: The world is under attack and you are forced to run for your life. You only have room for one book in your survival kit, what book do you take?

Erin: Jane Eyre—I love gothic romances, and this one started it all. I was eleven and my mom said it was too hard for me, which it probably was. But because my mom said “no,” of course I had to read it. And Michael Fassbender as Mr. Rochester? Yes, please.

Ali: Who are your favorite literary characters? (Yours or someone else's)

Erin: I like tortured heroes. From the classics—Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights. From current PNR—Loved Barrons. Loved him.

Ali: Are there any of your secondary characters you would like to give more life to?

Erin: Yes—Zoe (she appears in all three books of my Shadow series). She’s dark and twisty and snarky and I love her. I keep thinking I’d like to make her a heroine of her own story, and maybe someday I will. So tempting.

Ali: If your friends were asked to describe you in one word what would it be?

Erin: Crazy

*Favorite color: Blue

*Favorite food: Cheesecake

*Boots or heels: Heels

*eReader or Print: Love both for diff reasons. E—immediate gratification; P—smell of the paper

*Beer, Liquor or Wine: Wine

*Favorite place to get it on besides the bedroom: Outside!

*Favorite TV Show: Castle

*Favorite Book series (besides your own): Patricia Briggs’ Mercy Thompson

*Pj's or Lingerie: Pjs all day

*Vampires vs. Shifters: Shifters!

Erin Kellison is the author of the Shadow Series, which includes Shadow Bound and Shadow Fall, as well as Shadowman (Sept 2011), and the e-novella Shadow Touch (June 2011). Stories have always been a central part of Erin's life. She attempted her first book in sixth grade, a dark fantasy adventure, and she still has those early hand-written chapters. She graduated summa cum laude with a degree in English Language and Literature and went on for a masters in Cultural Anthropology, focusing on oral storytelling. When she had children, nothing scared her anymore, so her focus shifted to writing fiction.

For Jack, mage-born Kaye is off limits, no matter how hot the impossible attraction between them. But in the coming darkness, beset by danger and desire, everything is about to change...

SHADOW TOUCH by Erin Kellison

Shadow Touch Novella, Book 1

Zebra Books

Paranormal, Fantasy, Romance

June 2011

It is bleeding into our world, bringing with it banshees, wraiths, fae from the twisting forests of Twilight. But Ellie's problem is a very different kind of phenomenon...

It ought to be attached to her; instead it has a life of its own. And her dark mirror image is a wild thing, willfully seducing the very man Ellie hoped could help.

Cam has devoted his career to exploring the boundaries between this world and the Hereafter. But nothing could prepare him for the mischief and mayhem of a soul split in two.

Who will give in first: the man struggling to unite two halves of one fascinating female; the shadow fighting for freedom to experience the thrill of every emotion; or the woman who is about to discover her own deepest desires?

Shadow Touch
Erin Kellison

Simply Said:

Ellie Russo has suffered all her life with her shadow, a darker part of herself that’s gaining strength and baring all.

Dr. Cameron Kalamos, of the Segue Institute, agrees to meet with Ellie to try and help if he may.

Will they be able to help Ellie rid herself of her shadow, or discover that sometimes you just have to embrace even your dark side?

Shadow Touch was an amazing read that I was pulled into from the very beginning. I started this novella (which can be read as a stand-alone) without even a glance at the blurb, so I was not quite sure what I was getting myself into. I will be honest and mention that I did not expect Cam to be the hero at first. Through the novella, though, I see a growth to his character. Cam is ready to demonstrate that he has what it takes to work at the Segue Institute. Though, he soon begins to realize that things are not as easy as he had thought, and there will be times when one must make the impossible decisions.

Reading Ellie struggle with her shadow was unnerving. With each layer of Ellie’s life and secrets being exposed, you grow to sympathize with her more and understand why she desperately wanted a way out. It can be fearful to expose a darker part of yourself, but to have it done unwillingly can be utterly atrocious.

The romance between Ellie and Cam is secondary to the story of Ellie and her shadow, but I believe that made sense given the time frame in this novella. I enjoyed the chemistry between Ellie and Cam, who discovered an unexpected attraction to each other. I hope to see their relationship develop more so in the next novella, Shadow Play.

Erin Kellison wastes no words, weaving a story that becomes a vivid image in your mind. For a novella, the world building is amazing. I am now a fan and am eager to continue reading the Shadow series.

Wow...And That's not all readers!! Erin is also going to put an eBook of SHADOW PLAY on the Loaded Kindle Fire!! Thank You, Erin!!!

The question about ereader or paper....I think most of us feel that same way. I have had conversations with avid book readers who say it is the smell of the paper! I especially love old books because you know they have a history!

I love Angie Fox too--I love witty banter between characters.

I love the Mercy Thompson series too. OMG, she has the sexual tension down to an art. Adam is one of my favorite alphas. Sigh.

Yes! Jane Eyre! And Michael Fassbender! <3 [I so wish some other scenes had gone into the movie - the piano one... the night before Jane leaves...] Gah.
I wonder if Fassbender ever did read the book. I know he hadn't previously/it wasn't clear.
