The Fallen, Book 2

Kensington Brava

Paranormal Romance

June 26, 2012

Sammael–call him Sam–was an angel once. An Angel of Death. But the dispassionate, watch-from-above thing just wasn’t working for him when it meant watching evil torture innocent souls day in and day out. It might have cost him his wings, but these days he gets to apply the direct method on the bad guys. Problem is, what’s making his life difficult is a bad girl…

Seline O’Shaw needs protection, and with the hounds of hell on her tail, she’s not going to quibble too hard about where she gets it. Sam’s virtue is questionable, but he’s smoking hot, massively powerful, and owes her a favor. So what if she’s getting a little case of angel lust? There are some damn deadly sins after her hide…

Ali: Is there an author that makes you go all “fangirl?”

Cynthia: There are so many!!! But I think my main “fangirl” moments happen when I get close to Jayne Ann Krentz. I’ve loved her books for so long!

Ali: If you could co-write with another author who would it be and why?

Cynthia: Oh, tough!! But how about I pick the lovely Mrs. Krentz? Writing with her would be a dream. I love the diversity of stories that she writes—historicals, futuristics, contemporary—all while maintaining her distinct voice.

Ali: What are you looking forward to most about AADNola?

Cynthia: Everything! I LOVE New Orleans. Love it. I’m luck to live just 2 hours away from the Big Easy, so I visit frequently, and I’m just so taken by the city. So many places to visit. So many things to do. I always enjoying hitting Jackson Square and getting my fortune read or touring inside one of the cemeteries so I can get inspiration for more paranormal stories!

And at AAD, not only will I get to visit my favorite city, but I will get to hang out with romance readers! People who love the books that I love. How can it get any better than that?

Ali: The world is under attack and you are forced to run for your life. You only have room for one book in your survival kit, what book do you take?

Cynthia: That depends…who is attacking us? If it’s zombies, then I am totally taking my handy ZOMBIE SURVIVAL GUIDE…(yes, this is actually on my shelf right now).

Ali: Who are your favorite literary characters? (Yours or someone else’s)

Cynthia: I’m a Dracula girl. Seductive, mysterious, the paranormal king—Dracula is definitely a fave for me. I always wanted Dracula to have his happy ending with Mina.

Ali: Are there any of your secondary characters you would like to give more life to?

Cynthia: So many! When I write a book, it’s hard to leave characters behind. There are so many secondary characters that I would like to develop more. But let me think (and narrow this down…)—okay, the ones I’ve been wanting to write for a long time are Cammie and Jordan. Cammie (a dragon shifter) and Jordan (a wolf shifter) first appeared in IMMORTAL DANGER. They were both young in that novel, but a few years passed, and they popped up again in NEVER CRY WOLF. These two are destined for each other, and I’d sure like to give them a happy ending.

Ali: If you friends were asked to describe you in one word what would it be?

Cynthia: Hmmm…insane? No, quiet. No, wait—I think it would really depend on which friend you asked. ;)

LOL, bn100m, I'm afraid that collaboration is only a dream for me. I adore Jayne Ann Krent's books and greedily gobble them all up!

I've actually never written a book with another author, though I do know lots of writing teams. I get so far into the characters, I'm not sure that I'd make a good writing buddy for anyone!

Cynthia - I'm with you on the JAK fangirl love! She was one of the first romance authors I discovered and I devoured her backlist of Amanda Quick and Jayne Ann Krentz titles. It was my first introduction to paranormal too.

Can't wait to read this book since I totally loved Angel in Darkness. Glad to hear you are thinking about Cammie and Jordan story but I am still holding out hope for you to one day write another demon story--why not? You are so good at it. LOL

Brilliant Interview. Can't wait to read the second book. I love all your books.

Dracula is a big favourite of mine too, read the book, seen the movies. I must admit one of my favourite movies of Dracula was the 1979 version with Frank Langella as Dracula. He is gorgeous in it and betrays him wonderfully. I also love the gary oldman one too.

Can't wait to see what other ideas you are going to write about next.

It wonderful to hear you're thinking of writing more on the characters in Immortal Danger, I really loved that story.

Hey, Raonaid, I love that show! I love eating at dives--they're the coolest places. We'll miss you at AAD!

Thank you, Margie!! Can't wait!

Isn't she awesome, kog? The second romance novel I ever read was by her, and I've been hooked since.

Cynthia Eden said...

Thank you, mharper! Those two need a story, and I've been thinking and thinking about them...

Thank you, Vanessa!!

Cynthia Eden said...

Hey, Tina! Is there a particular demon that you'd like to see? (I do enjoy writing those demon tales!) And, not to give too much spoiler news away, but if you're a demon girl, you really might like Angel Betrayed. Just, you know, sayin'...

Hi, Deborah! Thanks so much for coming by and checking out the interview! Now you have me wanting to go find the 1979 version of Dracula (hmmm...wonder if I can find it on Netflix?) b/c it sounds awesome. (And I'm so glad you enjoyed Immortal Danger--thank you!)

Cynthia, love your stories, way back to the Secrets anthol shorts, and another Krentz fan, too!

Tina B said...

Loved the interview! I really enjoy reading about the authors that I love. :)
I am very excited about Sam's book, especially how you left us wondering about him in Keenan's book. Sneaky.
How many do you think will be in the series? I know about Sam's book and 1 after, but are there more?
Thank you for sharing and the opportunity to read his story early!

Now I am all jealous I don't live close enough to go to AAD. I could just cry because it looks like a blast.

Cynthia, the only problem I am having with your books is waiting for the next one because I am reading them too fast. ;) This, of course, means, I would LOVE an ARC of anything you write. Can I have a ARC of your next grocery list?

Seeing how it is your event, what is your favorite ice-cream flavor?

Cathy M said...

Another Krentz fan her (and Supernatural), and would love any stories that you two wrote together.

And, I forgot to add that I too own a "Zombie Survival Guide". Lol!
Do you have the "War Against The Walking Dead" by Sean T Page? :)

Pamk said...

azteclady said...

Oh I'm also a fan of Ms Krentz--I've always loved her historicals so much, written as Amanda Quick. (I just re-read Mystique last week, heh)

I wish I could attend ADD! *sigh*

Have fun, Ms Eden!
