Spooktacular Giveaway

What can be scarier than a haunted house? Well, if you're me... the closet. 0_o No, I haven't lost my mind (well, not yet, anyway). See, I recently tried to clean out the closet I use at my parent's house... um, what did I find there (besides paper, clothes, shoes, clothes I haven't worn, and more paper)? Books!

Yes, I'm a book addict and this isn't unusual. But, you must know that I have my own house where my books are supposed to be, lol. Somehow, with all my recent trips and stops to my parent's house, I've unloaded more books here. I found close to 100 books scattered in there... scary, I tell you, lol. Many of these books are ones I was planning to giveaway... so, what better way to do that then participate in the Spooktacular Book Blog Giveaway Hop being hosted by I Am A Reader, Not A Writer.

Since there are thirty-one days in October, I'll be giving away thiry-one books. Sounded logical to me, lol. Today, I have four books up for grabs. You can win one or all four. Just let me know in your comment which book(s) you'd like to be entered to win.

The Duke and I
By: Julia Quinn

BLURB:

Can there be any greater challenge to London's Ambitious Mamas than an unmarried duke?

—Lady Whistledown's Society Papers, April 1813

By all acounts, Simon Basset is one the verge of proposing to his best friend's sister, the lovely—and almost-on-the-shelf—Daphne Bridgerton. But the two of them know the truth—it's all an elaborate plan to keep Simon free from marriage-minded society mothers. And as for Daphne, surely she will attract some worthy sutiors now that it seems a duke has declared her desirable.

But as Daphne waltzes across ballroom after ballroom with Simon, it's hard to remember that their courtship is a complete sham. Maybe it's his devilish smile, certainly it's the way his eyes seem to burn every time he looks at her... but somehow Daphne is falling for the dashing duke... for real! And now she must do the impossible and convince the handsome rogue that their clever little scheme deserves a slight alteration, and that nothing makes quite as much sense as falling in love...

Sins of the Flesh
By: Caridad Pineiro

BLURB:

Caterina Shaw’s days are numbered. Her only chance for survival is a highly experimental gene treatment – a risk she willingly takes. But now Caterina barely recognizes herself. She has new, terrifying powers, an exotic, arresting body — and she’s been accused of a savage murder, sending her on the run.

Mick Carrera is a mercenary and an expert at capturing elusive, clever prey. Yet the woman he’s hunting down is far from the vicious killer he’s been told to expect: Caterina is wounded, vulnerable, and a startling mystery of medical science. Even more, she’s a beautiful woman whose innocent sensuality tempts Mick to show her exactly how thrilling pleasure can be. The heat that builds between them is irresistible, but surrendering to it could kill them both . . . for a dangerous group is plotting its next move using Caterina as its deadly pawn.

Sounds To Die By
By: Nikki Duncan
Excerpt here

BLURB:

Rookie FBI Agent Kieralyn Beckett is in a delicate position. Her team refuses to buy into her theory that a string of kidnappings is connected. If she pushes too hard, they’ll discover the latest victim was her college roommate and boot her off the case. A garbled recording is the only evidence, and there’s only one man who can decipher it. The hard part will be convincing him to take the case.

Blinded as a child, NSA “listener” Ian Cabrera spends the majority of his time analyzing data while secretly searching for his father, a missing CIA operative. His plate is full, but Kieralyn’s passion and determination, as well as the erotic beat of her heart, spark his interest. So does the mention of his father’s code name on her recording.

There’s only one way to follow this new crumb-trail of clues without tipping her off about what he’s really after. Convince her she needs him to be her undercover partner, despite his handicap. Between her eyes and his ears, they make one beautifully orchestrated team. Every time they touch, though, the arousal they generate creates one red-hot element of distraction…

From Boardroom to Wedding Bed?
By: Jules Bennett

BLURB:

He’d been faced with the toughest decision of his life—a future full of wealth and power, or the love of Tamera Stevens. And self-made billionaire Cole Marcum had never regretted his choice. Until now, when circumstances forced him to work as partners with the woman he’d left behind. The brilliant CEO was determined to keep their relationship strictly business. Even so, working so closely with the only woman he’d ever cherished had Cole rethinking his priorities. This time, was he prepared to choose love over money?

Oops ! For got answer to question.

We don;t celebrate Halloween over here (South Africa) although it is starting to get popular with kids because of commercial interests.

I think it is a great idea for a holiday.

@Two Little Cavaliers that's true, it is more fun in the right neighborhood. Where my little sister, the Brat, lives is a bit dangerous, so I usually take her somewhere else :)

@Ashley me, too... it's fun and interesting to see all the costumes.

@buddyt (Carol) Ooh, how interesting... so, is it only a handful that celebrate it now? Do they only trick-or-treat in a certain place? My favorite part is getting candy, lol

@Stella I've actually looked for different events around our area so that my sister wears her costume more than once, lol. There's a fun run where they allow the kids to dress up, hehe.
Thanks, I like the 31 book idea, too lol. It helps me get rid of more books, lol

@Kristen thanks! Thanks for stopping by :)

@Rad Hall my favorite perk is the candy, lol *yummy*

With the right people Halloween can be fun. There are some people out who likes to put the damper on the fun or take things too seriously and far.

Myself I love Halloween. It's the only time I can get away with looking gothy without my hubby having a stroke.

hehe I already ahve the Quinn book. I love her. It's the one that made me fall in love with her work.
