2009 Challenge-Week 1: Daring the Moon by Sherrill Quinn

So here we are, over a week into the New Years, wow.

Well, I went to the bookstore and it didn't take me long to find what I was looking for :) I have had this book on my list wishlist forever *bg*

The first book bought this New Year is:

Daring the Moon
By: Sherrill Quinn
Published By: Brava Kensington
Released: January 1, 2009
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Available in Mass Market here

Blurb:

It takes a lot to ruffle Taite Gibson, investigator with the Pima County Attorney's Office. But the enormous, snarling werewolf that's stalking her through the streets of Tucson? Yeah, that oughta do it. Those terrifying attacks convince Taite to seek out Ryder Merrick, a reclusive British horror writer reputed to know everything about werewolves, including how to kill them. Turns out he also knows how to leave her shaking with desire...

On his remote private island, Ryder can live safely with the beast inside him, unable to harm others or himself. Then Taite arrives, her lush, sweet scent and gorgeous curves tempting him to give in to every wicked hunger. And as a full moon rises, the only way to keep Taite safe from the evil that's followed her here is to convince her to trust in an attraction that's deeply dangerous, and wilder than she ever guessed….

2009 Simply Ali's Simple Challenge

Okay, this year I told myself that to save money... you know with a new house and all, lol... that I would cut my book buying habit. *gasp* I knowww, lol. It's not all that bad, though ;)

This year I told myself I would only buy one book a week... hey, trust me, that's cutting down for me, lol

Now, here's where you come in... for many of the weeks I already know which books I'll be buying (having many auto-buy authors and books I'm looking forward to)... but, for the weeks I don't know what to buy, I'll put up a post asking for recommendations. If I pick the book you recommended, you'll get a $5 gift certificate to an online bookstore (Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, or Borders) or to an online ebook publisher, where available.

For the first full week of January I've already picked a book and will share what it is tomorrow *bg*

I hope you're all having a wonderful start to the New Year!

Happy New Years!!

Happy New Year, Everyone!!

I'm sorry to have neglected my blog :( It's been almost three months since my last post, I know. It was rough for me... and I was going through some dark times. But, after a much needed vacation with good friends and with the holidays behind me, I'm starting to feel better and a bit refreshed. I'm looking forward to this year and all that may come... more than I have in a while. I won't lie, I'm still stressed... but, hey, that's life ;)

My resolutions for 2009? Well, I can say that it's not my norm; to lose weight... nope, this year, I've decided that I'd try not to sweat the small stuff... or the big stuff, lol. I'd also like to be a bit more organized this year... might help if I made use of my PDA, lol. Being more organized might be a bit harder to do... although, now that I think about it, not stressing over everything might be the harder one, lol. And finally, I've decided that I want to learn to dance this year *bg*

Yup, the girl with two left feet and stiff as a board wants to learn how to 'shake her groove thing' ;) lol

This year, the first book I finished was a very inspiring one, Chicken Soup for the Unsinkable Soul. The book was a Christmas gift to me from my 'adopted' mom, Michele. She's my best-friend's, Niki, mom. They were both on the cruise vacation I recently took, along with Niki's husband, Darien, and my other best-friend, Alberto.

For anyone feeling a bit down, need a little inspiration, short on time (most stories are just a couple pages), or just want a feel good read, I'd definitely recommend Chicken Soup for the Unsinkable Soul.... it also makes a perfect gift ;)

I hope you've all had a wonderful holiday and are having a great start to this new year! :)
