**Ali: Cynthia, welcome and thank you for being with us here this week. *g*
*Cynthia: Hi, Ali! Thank you very much for inviting me. I'm very happy to be visiting at your blog.
**Ali: First of all, I just want to say what a BIG fan I am of your work!! I'm so glad I got to meet you at RT. And, I'm just thrilled I found your stories in the first place... thank God for my werewolf story cravings, lol... Speaking of werewolves and all things paranormal, what drew you into writing in this genre?
*Cynthia: Thank you! And it was a pleasure to meet you at RT, too!
As for writing paranormals, well, I've always loved the supernatural. Loved hearing ghost stories. When I first started writing (with the intent to get published and not just for pleasure--because I did the pleasure writing for a LONG time), I wrote straight contemporaries, but...I just felt like something was missing. When I added the paranromal elements into the tales, well, it really felt like the plot-lines just came so much easier for me.
**Ali: So far, you've written one contemporary romance, Never Enough in Secrets Volume 16... which was a great read... I loved both the story line and characters (especially Jake *drool*)... do you have plans on writing any other contemporaries?
*Cynthia: Right now, I'm planning to do more paranromals--I'll be writing sexy paranormal suspense tales for Kensington. I'm having such a great time with the paranormals that I'd like to keep doing them for a while, but I would also like to eventually try my hand at a time travel or a romantic suspense. (And thanks for the compliment on Jake! Never Enough was actually the very first story that I sold to Red Sage, but, when there was an editor change, it wound up being the second of my
stories to be published with them.)
**Ali: Okay, Cynthia... I've looked and looked at your upcoming releases and they all sound hot *g*, but, I didn't see any more werewolves after Caged Wolf in Secrets Volume 21. I've got my fingers crossed that you're writing more... yes? Can you let us in on what you've got planned for the future?
*Cynthia: Oh, yes, Ali, there will be more...I'm going to be doing a few "shifter" stories for Kensington. In Hotter After Midnight, my hero is a wolf shifter and while the story mythology is different from my Secrets tales, all of the strong character traits of the werewolf are most definitely still present. In 08, I'll also have a jaguar shifter story out, and a story about, well, the bogeyman. Then I'll offer an X-Files meets Basic Instinct story in the form of Midnight Sins (12/08)--that's my first ever succubus story. After that, well, I'm heading back to vampire land--I'll have two stories out about vampires--female vamps this time, and one of those vampires will find herself paired with a dragon shifter. (Have I ever mentioned how much I adore dragons?)
**Ali: What inspires your stories?
*Cynthia: Everything! I swear, sometimes I get inspired just by walking down the street. Songs inspire me, movies do, pictures, people--truly, everything.
**Ali: Where can readers find you online?
*Cynthia: My web address is www.cynthiaeden.com and on MySpace, I'm at:
www.myspace.com/cynthiaeden.
**Ali: And finally, inquiring minds want to know, when your schedule allows, what do you enjoy reading? What's up next in your pile of books to read? ;)
*Cynthia: Paranormals, of course! I recently finished Kresley Cole's Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night--and I loved that book!!! I love her entire Immortals After Dark series. Unfortunately, I don't have a book lined up next--I've just started writing a new book, so I'm saving my reading until I get the first three chapters and synopsis done. Then, my "reward" will be a trip to the bookstore--and several days of reading
time.
