Woohoo breaking the comment cherry for this one! LOL Beth how did you come up with such a great title for this new series?
Jaycee ~ LMAO on the comment cherry. :)
The title - oh, I have a funny story. I was at a Christmas party with my husband at a steak house. Small party - there are only about 12 folks that work at this company. So, I’m browsing the menu when I see a dish called Devils on Horseback - it’s oysters in hot sauce. (We like it hot down here in the south ;).
Kablam!
That title rang in my head and I literally had to write it down. From there, the devils were born.
Beth what do you find is the hardest disapline for you as a writer? Is there a genre that you haven't tried writing in that you would like to? and if so what is it? Do you every have writers block? How do you push past it?
Bethre ~ I'd say the hardest discipline is writing every day. I think Stephen King had it spot on - you MUST write every day even if it's only 100 words.
Genre I haven't tried - oooh, Medievals. I am an avid fan of Medievals and would love to one day write a knight's story. Of course, I'd have to do a buttload of research first. LOL!
Writers block ~ Absolutely! Gads, sometimes I literally have to glue my fingers to the keys to write. I get past it by either forcing myself to write crap (which I delete later) or skip the scene I'm blocked about and move on. I have to go back later and write those skipped scenes(it's usually the sex scenes - my SP Sasha White teases me that she should write the sex and me the emotional scenes - hee hee).
I love scavenger hunts! It gives me a reason to explore the authors website and read all the book excerpts. I am already a big fan of Beth's stories, and I really want to read ALL of her books.
Rhonda :-)
Hi Beth, do you have any other genres rattling around in your brain waiting to come out? lol
Rhonda ~ Yay! Have fun hunting - Ali is amazing, isn't she? :)
Cathy ~ In addition to my western historicals, I've also published five contemporary novellas for Loose Id, and some contemporary erotica short stories with Sasha White.
Although I haven't planned on writing in another historical genre or even paranomals, the possibility is always there. Writers are writers regardless of the genres - there's always stories waiting to be born. :)
Oooh I love scavenger hunts too!
Hi, Beth! You have some of the most amazing covers for your books. I also LOVE the title for the new series!
Cindy ~ Howdy!! Thanks - the cover gods blessed me with Scott Carpenter. I worship at his artistic feet. ;)
Glad ya like the title - I'm telling you from the second I saw it, I knew it was a series. :)
HI BETH!! How're you?
I love the covers.
That's cool how you came up with the title. On my way to do the scavenger hunts and reading more about you on your site.
Michelle ~ *tackle hugs* Hey there peep!! :)
acdaisy95 ~ Yay! Glad you came by. I'm having fun with this!
Great scavenger hunt. I found lots of books that I would love to read. :)
CrystalG ~ Hooyah!!! I'm glad to keep you entertained. ;) I've got everything from scorching hot to sensual. Historical to contemporary to light BDSM. I like to test out my literary wings. :)
I'm not joing the contest because I already have this excellent author's work. Great to get to get some insights into your writing process this week. Thanks girls!
Laura K ~ *hugs and smooches* Thanks sweetie! You totally made my day!
